Our wines are born here

OUR TERROIR

Our location and environment are wonderful for the development of our vines: pure and healthy site, altitude, thermal contrast, clay and sandy solis, continental climate, life, heat, cold, high phreatic level; these are some of the virtues our vines enjoy.

Soils

Our soils are mainly limestone clay, some sandy, but each plot has its own particularity. This enables us to make unique wines with strong characters and personalities, also characterised by the freshness that comes from our terroir and environment.

Climate

Thanks to the altitude and continental climate, we benefit from great thermal amplitude all year round and especially in summer, which makes our grapes slower to ripen. As a result, we usually start harvesting in mid-October.

Grape varieties

We work with the following varieties: Tempranillo, Albillo mayor, Grenache teinturier and Grenach blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Syrah, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Chasselas.

Flora and fauna

Our village is situated in a rich ecological environment with numerous wooded areas with holm oaks, thousand-year-old oaks, pines and poplars, as well as lavender, thyme, camomile, nettle and juniper. This diversity attracts roe deer, wild boar, hares, partridges, quails, woodcock, and wood pigeons amongst others.

Vineyard

Our inheritance is a gift because the oldest vines are over 110 years old and the youngest are 23.

We are privileged to own pure and healthy land. We prune plot by plot, in goblet, simple Guyot or cordon as most appropriate.

Culture

We cultivate our plots with great tenderness in order to preserve their purity. Our land has always been cultivated sustainably and has never been treated with chemicals, pesticides or herbicides.  We plough consistently and alternately to maintain and strengthen the life of the subsoil.  If necessary, we treat with liquid manures of nettles, horsetails and camomile that we produce ourselves. We also use preparations of whey, dandelion, garlic or others if necessary.
